Design Evolution

Our designs for the proposed building represent a significant evolution of both the originally consented scheme for the site from 2016 and our original design for the southern portion of the site. We have continued to refine the proposals in response to feedback from Islington Council and the Design Review Panel and will continue to make design updates in response to public feedback we receive.

The below images show how the design has evolved to become less intrusive and scale and more in tune with its surroundings

2017 approved scheme:

Originally consented scheme
The 2017 scheme had envisaged a mixed hotel, office and residential scheme but ultimately this proved unviable to deliver.

Spring 2021 scheme:

This scheme demonstrated how a freestanding building would meet the principles established by the 2017 approval whilst showing it was capable of being connected to a further new building on the northern car park if and when this comes forward in the future
